Weir lavishes praise on McGregor

Rangers captain David Weir believes goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been key to his side's recent winning run. The Gers defeated Aberdeen 1-0 at Pittodrie in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League on Wednesday night thanks to Nikica Jelavic's sublime overhead kick to record their third successive win. Walter Smith's men kept a clean sheet in each of the three victories and Weir gives much of the credit for that form to McGregor. He said: "I think the goalie has been outstanding and has made some great saves in the last two or three games. You just expect him to make these outstanding saves because he plays at such a high level. "Being a goalkeeper is all about minimising the mistakes and he is doing that at the moment and long may that continue."
