Weir keen to capitalise

Rangers received a title boost when Hamilton held Celtic to a draw on Wednesday night and captain David Weir hopes the result could also help his team on Saturday.

Rangers host Accies as they bid to stay right on the tail of leaders Celtic, who are five points ahead, before they begin clawing back their three games in hand.

"In this league any team is capable of taking points off you," the Scotland defender told Blues News.

"Celtic found that out the other night and we`ll be the same on Saturday.

"We`ll have to approach it properly and play well or we`ll be the ones who are disappointed.

"It was a good lesson for us and it was noted. We have to take heed of it and it`s up to us to respond the right way on Saturday."

Hamilton have been struggling for goals but striker Nigel Hasselbaink has returned from injury, and they have looked more solid in defence in recent weeks.

"They always make it difficult for you," Weir said. "They work hard, they are organised, they structure their team to make it difficult.

"We`ll have to play well and put a lot of effort in to get the result."
