Weir desperate to make amends

The Scottish giants will take on Tuesday night's opponents again in Romania on November 4 - and after taking just one point from three matches in Champions League Group G, Rangers face a huge task to get themselves back into contention to finish in the top two.[LNB]Weir told Sky Sports: "We're obviously very disappointed with the way it's gone. We've got to try to win the next game - it's as simple as that.[LNB]"We've got to win the next game and see where that takes us."[LNB]Weir admits he was "very disappointed" with the outcome at Ibrox, which prompted boos aimed the home side - while many supporters left long before the final whistle.[LNB]"It's their prerogative; if they want to leave and boo that's their decision," said Weir.[LNB]Unirea manager Dan Petrescu, the former Chelsea player, suggested his team had not performed well for much of the match.[LNB]Despite their heavy margin of victory, Petrescu said: "After we scored the third the game was over - but before that, I thought we could have done better."[LNB]An early own goal had given Rangers the lead, but two own goals from the home side - Kyle Lafferty and Lee McCulloch the unlucky men - allowed Unirea to fight back.[LNB]"We must be very happy now," said Petrescu. "We conceded an early goal and had to change the system.[LNB]"I thought if they scored a second it would be difficult to come back.[LNB]"Now we have to think about the next game, because it's going to be a different game in Romania."[LNB]Petrescu was pleased with the victory but said: "It's going to be big if we qualify. If we don't win it's not that big."[LNB]Rangers manager Smith accepted the fans had a right to be upset.[LNB]"If anyone has a frustration I can understand why," he said. "At the start of the second half we're looking at losing three goals from set-plays and that's not good enough at this level.[LNB]"From my own point of view it's really disappointing to lose goals like that.[LNB]"Overall, I didn't think we played well enough to win the game."[LNB]He added: "We can't hide our disappointment, and I don't think anybody at the club can.[LNB]"We have to get ourselves together and hope we can handle the situation in a better manner."[LNB][LNB]
