Andy Webster is anxious to repay his Rangers team-mates for their support when he was out of the first-team picture at Ibrox.[LNB] The centre-half has made just one competitive appearance for the club since first arriving at Ibrox in January 2007.[LNB]But Webster, whose injury problems with Rangers began when he damaged knee ligaments in his first training session, revitalised his career on loan at Dundee United last season.[LNB]The 28-year-old resumed his Scotland career after a four-year absence, won a Scottish Cup winners' medal and made the shortlist for the PFA Scotland player of the year award.[LNB]And he admitted his Ibrox team-mates' encouragement had been vital throughout his time in the treatment room, the reserves and his days at Tannadice.[LNB]"Although I have finally overcome my injury problems and got back playing week in, week out during my spell at Dundee United, I have a huge amount to thank everybody at Rangers for," Webster said in the Evening Times.[LNB]"They are a great bunch of boys and have really helped me through the darker times.[LNB]"When I was out of action and doubted I would get back playing on a regular basis at a decent level they definitely kept my spirits up.[LNB]"The Rangers boys welcomed me with open arms and made me feel part of things. They have kept in touch with me when I moved on to United on loan to see how I was getting on. Their support has been important."[LNB]The former Hearts and Wigan defender is excited about the prospect of pushing for Rangers' third successive Scottish Premier League title and playing in the Champions League.[LNB]He added: "I moved to a big club like Rangers to elevate my career to a new level and, thus far, I have not been able to do that.[LNB]"But there is the opportunity for me to do that now and I will relish the opportunity to get back into things."[LNB]Rangers have confirmed away friendlies against Queen of the South, Clyde and Glentoran to complete their pre-season schedule this summer.[LNB]The Scottish champions have already arranged matches in Australia against Blackburn, Sydney FC and AEK Athens, as well as the visit of Newcastle United.[LNB]They will face Queen of the South at Palmerston Park on July 18, which will be a testimonial for long-serving defender Jim Thomson.[LNB]After the trip to Australia, Walter Smith's men will take on Clyde at Broadwood Stadium on August 4, followed by Glentoran at The Oval on August 10.[LNB]Scotland's friendly in Sweden the following night means Smith is likely to take a squad of fringe players to Northern Ireland.
