Smith rues Lafferty loss

Rangers manager Walter Smith expects to be without Kyle Lafferty for the next two weeks.

The former Burnley striker suffered a knee injury during Northern Ireland's 1-1 draw in Poland last weekend and scans have confirmed medial ligament damage.

Smith said: "Kyle isn't available for this weekend of during the week. It looks as though he might be out for a couple of weeks which is a blow for both the player and the club.

"We were looking forward to him getting some game time under his belt when he was away with Northern Ireland but, unfortunately, he's picked up this knee injury."
