Rangers skipper Barry Ferguson won high praise from manager Walter Smith after his two goals against Hapoel Tel Aviv helped seal a place in the last 16 of the UEFA Cup.
A 4-0 victory at Ibrox helped overturn a 2-1 first leg deficit and set up a meeting with Spanish side Osasuna, with Ferguson leading the way with a double.
Smith said afterwards: "Barry Ferguson has been terrific for us. Since I came back as manager, he has been outstanding.
"This evening, he was excellent. He had the freedom to play further forward and the two goals were a bonus for us and for him.
"That aside, I felt he led the team extremely well and his overall performance was fantastic."
