Walter Smith cannot believe how badly his Rangers side have played at Ibrox in the Champions League this season.
Tuesday's 2-0 loss to Stuttgart meant the Gers had been defeated in all three of their home group games and ensured they would not even be playing in the Europa League in the new year.
An exasperated Smith admitted: "It's a difficult one. We've struggled at home trying to impose ourselves on games while also retaining a decent level of defending.
"While we've done this away we haven't managed that in our three games at Ibrox so, of course, that's extremely disappointing.
"Maybe away from home the expectation isn't so great in terms of having to go forward and win the game.
"Our possession of the ball has even been better in the away games so that's frustrating."
