Smith: Lack of pressure a problem

18 April 2010 15:32
Walter Smith lamented the "lack of pressure" Rangers had been put under as they took a large step towards the SPL title by beating Hearts 2-0.[LNB] Second-half goals from Kyle Lafferty and Kenny Miller, the latter a penalty, mean Rangers will be champions without playing again if Celtic fail to beat Dundee United on Saturday.[LNB]Smith admitted his team, who dropped points at Dundee United on Wednesday, had been poor against Hearts at Ibrox on Sunday.[LNB]"I felt it was vitally important we managed to get a win," Smith told Sky Sports.[LNB]"Though we were poor in the first half, we stepped it up in the second half and in the end we could have won by more goals.[LNB]"It's a lack of pressure that's causing us a problem. We've been in an unusual situation in that, since around nine games to go people have been telling us we're champions."[LNB]Goalscorer Miller is not celebrating just yet.[LNB]He said: "We've still got another win next week. Today's win puts us in a strong position going into the last four games."
