The holders almost crashed out of the competition despite racing into a two-goal lead at New Douglas Park on Sunday.[LNB]Accies hit back with three quick goals to leave Rangers trailing at half-time, before a Kenny Miller penalty took the tie to a replay.[LNB]Rangers face Hamilton again in the Scottish Premier League this weekend, before taking the Scottish Cup tie back to Ibrox the following Tuesday.[LNB]And, after boasting a 100% record and scoring a barrow load of goals in December, Smith says the result at the weekend was a timely reminder against complacency.[LNB]"I would hope the cup tie would serve as a little frightener for us," he told Rangers News.[LNB]"I always say before games that we'll get a hard match because that's always the case at Rangers.[LNB]"There's not enough credit given to our opponents for that.[LNB]"I felt Hamilton worked extremely hard on Sunday and thoroughly deserved the draw they got.[LNB]"From our own point of view, we were disappointed not to win but at least we didn't lose.[LNB]"Every now and then, I think we need a reminder of how hard other sides can make it for us. There's no doubt about that.[LNB]"We had a spell in December when everything we did worked for us and sometimes you get that in football.[LNB]"Since then, we've gone away to Celtic Park and New Douglas Park and had two draws so everyone has seen things don't always come as easily to them as they did last month."[LNB]Miller is suspended for Saturday's trip to Hamilton and top goalscorer Kris Boyd is recovering from a hernia operation.[LNB]But Nacho Novo, Steven Davis and DaMarcus Beasley are all expected to recover from injury for the SPL clash.[LNB][LNB]
