Shrews run rule over Rangers rookie

Rangers midfielder Paul Emslie has joined Shrewsbury on a week's trial as Graham Turner looks to add some fresh faces to his new squad.[LNB] The 22-year-old, who came through the youth set-up at Ibrox, spent time on loan at Peterhead last season and will now be looking to impress the coaching staff at Greenhous Meadow.[LNB]Shrewsbury's assistant manager John Trewick told BBC Radio Shropshire: "He's been recommended to us and we're happy to give him the chance to impress.[LNB]"We'll get him involved in pre-season training and see what he can do."[LNB]Trewick is also hopeful the club can add a few more signings to the squad but accepts they may have to bide their time.[LNB]He added: "Our squad clearly isn't big enough at the moment, and we have a number of possible deals bubbling under - but sometimes you have to play a bit of a waiting game."
