Shiels to tweak Killie approach

Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels admits he will adapt his side's normal free-flowing style to deal with the threat posed by Rangers on Tuesday.[LNB] Killie have conceded nine goals in four Scottish Premier League games ahead of their clash in Govan.[LNB]Shiels will look to tighten up his side against Rangers but he will also ask his players to express themselves as they look to bounce back from the 3-0 defeat at St Mirren Park on Saturday.[LNB]Shiels said: "We have adaptations. When you're playing the best, you have to adapt how you're playing. We're no different."[LNB]On the problems in keeping out goals, Shiels added: "We are addressing that and trying to improve that area of our team.[LNB]"It's a good place to see if we have got that improvement, at Ibrox."[LNB]Shiels added: "It's a chance to get us back to a positive frame of mind. You will see us passing the ball.[LNB]"We will work hard, pass the ball and see where it gets us. If it gets us a victory, I'll be delighted."[LNB]Rangers will be without former Kilmarnock player Steven Naismith after he was hit with a two-match ban under the Scottish Football Association's new fast-track disciplinary system for catching Dunfermline full-back Austin McCann with his arm.[LNB]The Scotland international later netted two second-half goals to take his tally for the season to nine for club and country and Shiels admits his absence is a boost for Killie, if not for the SPL.[LNB]Shiels said: "I think he is a great player for the league, a fantastic entertaining player, (who) scores fantastic goals.[LNB]"It would be better for us if he's not playing, anyone in my position would say that.[LNB]"But Rangers supporters have been entertained by him and it's important those types of players are in the league."
