Scotland must improve - Miller

The Rangers striker believes a repeat of the form in the previous campaign under George Burley, which saw the Scots fail to qualify for this summer's World Cup finals, will simply not be good enough.[LNB]Instead, he wants the national team to recapture the spirit they displayed in their last Euro qualifying group, when they just missed out despite coming up against some of the strongest teams in the world.[LNB]Craig Levein's men will face Spain, Czech Republic, Lithuania and Liechtenstein in a bid to finally end their exile from major tournaments which stretches back to the 1998 World Cup.[LNB]Miller said: "We need to get better than the last campaign, there is no doubt about that.[LNB]"Hopefully we can find the form that we found in the previous Euro campaign, when we had France, Italy and Ukraine.[LNB]"To go so close in a group like that shows that the players and the team do have it in them to challenge the best teams.[LNB]"There is no doubt the last campaign was way below that standard but we've got to find that standard again if we are going to get the second spot and then qualify.[LNB]"It's good to see the draw and know who we've got for the forthcoming campaign. It could have been better but it could have been worse.[LNB]"Personally, I would have preferred another team in the group but we are in a group of five again. Hopefully we get the right results and can be in there at the business end of the campaign."[LNB]Spain, ranked number one in the world, will be favourites to top the group, while Miller admits Liechtenstein are something of an unknown quantity.[LNB]He said: "I've never come up against them in my time as an international player so it's going to be something new for me.[LNB]"I'm sure the management team will be doing their homework on them and will let us know all about them.[LNB]"We will be prepared just as well for them as we will be for Spain."[LNB]Scotland play host to the Czech Republic at Hampden next month and Miller believes both sides will benefit from the friendly before the action begins for real.[LNB]He said: "We can have a look at them and they can have a look at us.[LNB]"It takes on more significance now that we've got them in the campaign as well. It will prepare us a little bit better.[LNB]"At one point they were top three or four in the world. A lot of the players have gone now and I don't really know much about a lot of their other players.[LNB]"That's up to the management to do their job and get us prepared. We will see them in a couple of weeks time and there is no better preparation than playing against these lads."[LNB][LNB] EC Group I Win Outright: Scotland 10/1
