Saints boss relishing Gers clash

McInnes is a former Rangers player himself and knows the strong, winning mentality required by every squad put together by either half of the Old Firm.[LNB]He has been impressed with Walter Smith's outfit this season and confesses being paired with the Govan side was the hardest draw his own team could have been handed after victories over Hibs and Dundee United took them to the semi-finals stage.[LNB]However, despite their opponents' greater experience of eking out just what it takes to make finals and win silverware, McInnes is hopeful his McDiarmid Park line-up relish the challenge of squaring up to the current SPL leaders with a final place at stake.[LNB]He said: "Up against us is a very, very good side, the favourites to win the trophy and the most difficult draw we could have got.[LNB]"But it's one we shouldn't be daunted by, we should be trying to relish the opportunity.[LNB]"They're a well-drilled machine, with match-winners in their team. They've got great experience, a physical presence to them and a bit of pace if certain players are in their team.[LNB]"They've also go the winning mentality that comes with having an experienced manager driving that into them and the fact a lot of them have been over the course and know how to win things.[LNB]"That itself is a real asset to have and at the minute they look a very strong side."[LNB]However, with St Johnstone having proved themselves formidable opponents in knock-out competition in recent seasons - this is their fourth semi in just three years - McInnes has knocked back any suggestions that Rangers will treat Saints lightly.[LNB]He added: "We know they are used to being at this stage of competitions but at the same time I don't think there will be any complacency in their dressing room. They know what's expected of them at that club.[LNB]"Rangers have been used to winning things and any other team that wins a domestic trophy normally has to beat one of the Old Firm to get there.[LNB]"We're going to have to do it if we're going to be successful."[LNB][LNB] Rangers 2/7, Draw 4/1, St. Johnstone 8/1
