Ruthless Rangers aiming to extend lead

Andrew Little has revealed Rangers are determination to extend their eight-point lead over Celtic. Celtic cut the gap on the Clydesdale Bank Premier League leaders on Wednesday with victory over Hearts while Rangers scraped a draw at Motherwell. The move was a rare glimmer of light for Celtic in a disappointing couple of months that has seen them gradually slip away from Rangers. But Rangers manager Walter Smith has warned there is no room for complacency inside Ibrox and Little believes they have to use the visit of Hibernian on Sunday as the start of another winning run. "The cushion is nice but we don't want to sit on that," said the striker. "The manager keeps stressing to us that we need to keep pushing on and not just be happy to have that cushion. We want to extend the lead, no matter what other teams do, it's all down to us. "If we can get the form we had in December we can push on. We need to find a run that we found at the end of last season, we went something like 11 games unbeaten with 10 wins and a draw. That's the kind of form we need to show because there are other teams, Hibs and Celtic included, who are capable of doing that as well."
