Reid happy with home comforts

The Lanarkshire club were beaten 5-1 at Ibrox in the quarter-finals last season following a 2-0 defeat there in the Co-operative Insurance Cup.[LNB]Hamilton have conceded a total of 11 goals in their two Scottish Premier League trips to Ibrox since winning promotion, but matches at New Douglas Park have been tighter affairs.[LNB]And Reid is looking forward to giving Rangers a test when they make the trip again on January 10.[LNB]"It's always nice to get a home tie," Reid told Sky Sports News. "Last season in both cups we drew Rangers but both games were at Ibrox.[LNB]"This time us being at home is a big influence and it's a big boost for the players. If we were to pull off a shock it would be a momentous occasion for us."[LNB]Former Rangers captain Richard Gough, who helped make Monday's draw, agreed with Reid's assessment.[LNB]"You are always looking for a home draw," Gough said. "You are always on dangerous territory away from home.[LNB]"It's quite apparent that the lads aren't playing with a lot of confidence. So it is a worry.[LNB]"I'm sure Walter Smith, knowing him like I do, will raise their spirits and get the boys back playing to a good level again.[LNB]"Let's hope that happens in time for the cup tie. If they haven't picked up their form by the time that game comes around, it's going to be a difficult game."[LNB]There is much less chance of a shock when Irvine Meadow visit Hibernian, according to the club's general manager, Iain McQueen.[LNB]"I think we have got to be realistic and say we have a mountain to climb against Hibs," McQueen said. "If we could get a result against Hibs, a draw for example, it would be simply unbelievable."[LNB]Hibs boss John Hughes will take nothing for granted against the Ayrshire side.[LNB]"Our homework will be thorough and we will do our preparation to get through the tie," he said. "We'll have them watched two or three times."[LNB][LNB]
