Duo back for Rangers

Rangers boss Ally McCoist has been boosted by the welcome return of Andy Little and Chris Hegarty for the Irn-Bru Third Division encounter with Peterhead.

The Ibrox men host the Blue Toon and will be able to include 25-goal joint-top scorer Little for the first time since beating Elgin on March 16, while defender Hegarty returns after serving a two-match ban for stamping on an opponent in last month's match with Montrose.

However, there are still selection concerns for McCoist with Brazilian defender Emilson Cribari ruled out through injury, meaning teenager Canadian Luca Gasparotto could replace him at the heart of the Light Blues' back four, while winger Barrie MacKay (foot) won't play again this season.

Martin Bavidge will miss Peterhead's trip to face to face the champions.

The striker has a hamstring injury and joins Callum MacDonald and Davie Ross, who are both nursing knee problems, on the sidelines.

However, Bryan Gilfillan could make a surprise return to action after overcoming the ankle injury that looked to have ended his season a fortnight ago.

Balmoor boss Jim McInally said: "We could not ask to be going there in better form having won our last five games and not conceded a goal.

"However, playing Rangers at home is a very different proposition to normal Third Division games, but if we play well and they play poorly we are in with a chance."

Victory for second-placed Peterhead could secure them a promotion play-off place if other results go their way.
