Injuries hamper Gers

Rangers have a number of injury problems ahead of their Irn-Bru Third Division game against Peterhead.

David Templeton has recovered from ankle ligament damage but misses the clash at Ibrox with a hamstring injury.

Kevin Kyle is out with a neck problem, while Sebastien Faure, Francisco Sandaza and Kane Hemmings remain on the sidelines, although Anestis Argyriou could return following an ankle injury.

Rangers opened their Third Division campaign with a 2-2 draw at Peterhead and Light Blues boss Ally McCoist is expecting another difficult encounter.

He said: "Peterhead have given us one of our tougher games, certainly one of the most physical. We only equalised in the last couple of minutes.

"It was the opening league game of the season and it was a really tough game up there and this will be a tough game. It's not ideal not being at full strength but we are where we are."

Peterhead have defender Scott Ross available following suspension.

Callum MacDonald is definitely out through injury and the Blue Toon will give Graeme Sharp and Jamie Redman time to prove their fitness after recent problems.

Balmoor assistant manager David Nicholls reckons that a trip to the leaders should be enjoyed and not feared, saying: "This will be a marvellous occasion for our club from the chairman down across to the players.

"We will go there and enjoy being part of what will no doubt be an incredible atmosphere.

"We did well in the 2-2 draw but at home Rangers have been great but we will do our best."
