Defensive problems not a major worry for Rangers boss Warburton

Rangers manager Mark Warburton admits his team must be more difficult to beat, but he played down their recent increase in goals conceded.

Rangers' imminent Ladbrokes Championship title triumph was delayed on Saturday when Harry Panayiotou scrambled home an injury-time equaliser for Raith Rovers to seal a 3-3 draw.

Rangers will secure promotion if they beat Dumbarton on Tuesday night, and could even afford to lose if Hibernian fail to beat Livingston.

But their defensive frailties are causing concern for supporters, with the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic looming on April 17.

However, Warburton's side had only shipped one goal in their previous five games and he does not appear to be overly-concerned.

"We were very impressive up to that point and there is no doubt we have conceded nine goals in three games, which is unacceptable," he said. "But again, sometimes you can over-analyse."

Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn remains on the sidelines with the forward still working his way back from a knee injury.

Long-term absentee David Templeton (knee) is also out.

Dumbarton are unable to call upon on-loan Rangers midfielder Tom Walsh but Darren Barr should shake off a knock to play.

Manager Stephen Aitken is looking for his side to keep Rangers waiting for the title.

He said: as he explained: "Rangers can win the Championship but we need points as well so we are not just going to go there and lie down.

"There will be 50,000 fans wanting to see a title clinched but we will look to be as solid as we were against Morton at the weekend. We will look to bring something back with us."
