Macleod back for Gers

Rangers are boosted by the return of Lewis Macleod for their final league game of the season against Berwick.

The midfielder has been out of action with knee ligament damage since January, but returns in time for the champions to be presented with the trophy at Ibrox.

But boss Ally McCoist has defensive worries, with Chris Hegarty out after undergoing a hernia operation, Emilson Cribari sidelined with a calf injury and Lee Wallace a major doubt with a knee problem.

Berwick will be without Lee Currie through suspension as they look to keep hold of the last remaining play-off place.

The Borderers include Fraser McLaren following a toe problem, but Dougie Brydon remains doubtful due to a groin injury.

Ian Little's side sit three points clear, but a heavy defeat and a handsome win for Elgin could see an eight-goal advantage turned around.

Little said: "Getting through the first 20 minutes is vital, so we need to bed ourselves into the game well.

"I always had a sneaking suspicion that it would come down to this final game.

"Now that it has we need the players to be mentally strong to see us through."
