McCulloch absent for Gers

Rangers will be without Lee McCulloch for Saturday's Irn-Bru Third Division game against Berwick Rangers.

The skipper misses the clash at Ibrox with an ankle injury, while Kevin Kyle remains on the sidelines with a knock.

Better news for the Light Blues is the availability of defender Ross Perry, despite suffering a broken nose in last week's draw with Elgin City.

On McCulloch, McCoist said: "He went for a scan and he's got a small amount of bruising.

"I'm going to have a chat with him and will probably give him a bit of space and time, just to let the bruising go away.

"He's been doing well. We're certainly not strong in that forward department and it's punishing us at the moment."

Berwick will have Andy McLean in the centre of their defence at Ibrox as regular defender Dougie Brydon is suspended.

The Borderers are also missing Marc Lancaster (back) and Dene Droudge (knee), however on-loan Livingston winger Ross Gray has been passed fit after a recent knock and is included.

Ian McCaldon will be between the sticks, with manager Ian Little looking to bring in a loan stopper to provide back up after Youssef Bejaoui dropped out through injury.

Little said: "We have good players at our club and I want them to show how good they are on a big stage like Ibrox. We are the last Third Division side to visit Ibrox and we want to keep doing the league proud."
