Midfield pair back for Gers

Rangers midfield duo Arnold Peralta and Ian Black will return from suspension to feature for the Ibrox men as they host Arbroath on Saturday.

The League One leaders should also have goalkeeper Cammy Bell back between the sticks after he missed the 2-0 win over Forfar on Monday night to attend the birth of his daughter, while Steven Smith could feature again after recovering from an ankle injury.

However, injury problems mean Nicky Clark (foot), Chris Hegarty (ankle), Kyle Hutton (broken leg) and Ross Perry (ankle) all remain on the sidelines.

Arbroath have signed striker Paul McManus following his release from Forfar and he has gone straight into their squad for their second trip of the season to Ibrox.

McManus could start as Graham Bayne is an injury doubt with Connor Birse remaining absent due to a knee injury.

Player-manager Paul Sheerin said: "In our first game against Rangers we did really well for an hour and led until Rangers ran over us late on. In the second game we lost early goals and we were then better as the game went on.

"We need a solid start and a solid finish if we are to do anything in this one."
