Champions Rangers ready to celebrate but Martyn Waghorn still short of fitness

Rangers will finally get their hands on the Ladbrokes Championship trophy following Saturday's clash with Alloa but the match will come too soon for Martyn Waghorn.

The English striker is closing in on a comeback from a knee injury but his return has been pencilled in for Tuesday night's game with Livingston.

Harry Forrester (broken leg) and long-term absentee David Templeton (knee) remain out.

Having lost to Hibernian in midweek, Mark Warburton's men will be hoping to celebrate their title with victory in front of their home fans.

Alloa's former Gers goalkeer Scott Gallacher is back after injury, but midfielder Burton O'Brien misses out with a back injury and Ryan Hoggan is a major doubt.

Manager Jack Ross, who agreed to a new contract this week, said: "Over the past few weeks our players have put in a number of solid performances and we will look to build on them at Ibrox. This will be a great occasion for our players to be part of however we need to show that we are not going out just to make up the numbers.

"I want us to go out and be competitive."
