Rangers hoping for Davis fitness boost

Rangers are still sweating over the fitness of Steven Davis ahead of Wednesday's Champions League game against Bursaspor.

The midfielder picked up a hamstring injury during Sunday's win at Aberdeen.

He will be assessed later on Tuesday after training to determine whether he will be involved in the clash at Ibrox.

Boss Walter Smith said: "We are not sure about him yet. It's only a slight hamstring injury but he's doubtful.

"We train on Tuesday afternoon and we will not know until after training."

Rangers lost all their home games in the Champions League last year and Smith wants an improvement.

He added: "Our away games were okay last year but our home form was really disappointing and we need to make the adjustment.

"After our home form last season we can't go into any game in the Champions League as the favoured team. "
