Rangers freeze season ticket prices
Rangers have frozen season-ticket prices for the second successive year to ensure "affordability" for families and young supporters.[LNB] Season-ticket holders will also be given free access to Rangers' internet television channel, RangersTV.tv, for the first three months of next term.[LNB]Chief executive Martin Bain told the club's official website: "We had a three-year season-ticket strategy of which this is year three and what we looked at was affordability, affordability for families and to make sure that young supporters were able to come into the ground.[LNB]"The way we have priced it means that it is cheaper for young supporters to come to the games and there are more opportunities for families.[LNB]"The season-ticket base at Ibrox is core to everything. It's the envy of many clubs in Europe."[LNB]He added: "Down south, the model is such that they have income streams such as broadcast revenue which maybe means they don't have to rely on supporters as much as we do.[LNB]"Week in, week out they turn up and follow us everywhere and the season-ticket base is tremendous.[LNB]"It's been a difficult season for us in many ways and the supporters deserve great praise."[LNB]Rangers Supporters Assembly president Andy Kerr said: "This is good news for all Rangers supporters and the club deserves credit for taking the decision to freeze season tickets for the third year in a row.[LNB]"I appreciate that the current economic climate affects us all but the impact of selling over 40,000 season tickets would be a huge boost for the club and will hopefully enable Walter Smith to strengthen the playing squad."
