Croatian striker Dado Prso has confirmed that he will be leaving Rangers at the end of the season after being told that he cannot continue playing at the highest level.
The 32-year-old has been struggling with a knee injury for some time and a specialist has now told him to quit top-level football.
"I see my specialist every year and I went to see him earlier this week for our usual appointment," Prso told the Gers' official website.
"He told me that the situation with my knee is not getting any better and as a result I will need more and more rest.
"That is why I have decided that I won't be able to play on at Rangers next season.
"It's so frustrating for me. I knew I would have to stop playing one day, but that doesn't make it any easier once that time comes.
"I have spoken to the coach about my decision and it was a sad feeling."
Prso moved to Ibrox from AS Monaco in May 2004 and has scored 37 goals in 121 appearances for the club.
