Papac ruled out for derby

Rangers have been dealt a blow with the news they will be without Sasa Papac for the final Old Firm derby of the season.

The Ibrox left-back was booked in Wednesday night's goalless draw against Dundee United in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

The caution - his seventh yellow card of the campaign - takes him through the 18-point disciplinary threshold.

Under normal circumstances, the Bosnian would incur a one-match suspension, which is the next meeting with United at Tannadice on May 1.

But, because Papac also went through the points barrier last season, he will also be banned for the clash with Celtic at Parkhead three days later.

His absence could pave the way for Steven Smith to feature in the famous fixture for the last time before leaving the Glasgow giants in the summer.
