Papac demands character from Gers
Rangers headed into the action top on goal difference and moved three points clear when Barry Ferguson netted the only goal in a 1-0 win over Hamilton in the lunchtime kick-off.
But Celtic responded in emphatic style with a resounding 7-0 thrashing of St Mirren just hours later to move level with their rivals - and slash their far superior goal difference from 10 to four.
However, Papac is confident that, with more performances like the one they produced at New Douglas Park, Rangers can finally end Celtic's dominance of Scottish football.
He said: "We are top of the league and we must now keep Celtic under pressure.
"We must keep playing like we played in this game and I think there is no problem for us to win the league.
"We were strong, we defended well and we created many chances too. We are playing very well now and maybe Celtic had a little bit of a crisis in their last few games.
"We must concentrate only on ourselves. We are showing character now.
"There are 11 games to go and we must go from game to game trying to get the three points."
Papac has never tasted title success since arriving at Ibrox in the summer of 2006 and is determined to claim his first league medal this season.
He added: "Celtic have won the last three championships. I've been here for almost three years now and I have won cups but now I want to take the league."
Derby boss Nigel Clough was among the ground-record crowd of 5,895 who crammed into New Douglas Park, with reports suggesting Brian Easton was the reason for his trip north of the border.
However, the Accies defender took the attention in his stride, insisting he is only interested in Hamilton for the time being after recently penning a new deal until 2011.
He said: "I was talking to my dad after the game and he said there was something on the television about it but I'm not taking too much notice to be honest.
"It's a compliment to have someone watching me but there is nothing I can do about it, it's out of my hands just now. I just need to keep doing my stuff at Hamilton and see what happens.
"We already have a lot of people coming here, firstly for James McCarthy and then James McArthur was getting attention as well.
"But we don't take too much notice of it. There are a lot of people in the dressing room who will keep our feet on the ground if we get carried away with it."
Accies suffered a 7-1 thrashing at the hands of Rangers the last time the two clubs met but were just as unhappy with the narrow 1-0 reverse.
Easton added: "Everyone is disappointed to lose the game and that shows you how far we have come.
"As a team we can play better but you can't fault our effort and commitment.
"We have to put it out of our heads because we have a big game on Wednesday (against Hibernian)."
