Rangers' Old Firm hero Nacho Novo played down talk of a new contract following his two-goal show in the 3-0 victory over Celtic at Ibrox.
The 28-year-old Spaniard's current deal runs out at the end of the current campaign, with Novo concerned after dropping out of the first-team picture in recent weeks.
He admitted: "I was surprised to be playing. The last few weeks I have not even been on the bench and it is quite hard to take, but the manager has a difficult job to keep everyone happy.
"I just love to play football, I don't worry about a new contract.
"I am an honest person. Six years ago I was playing in the second division with Raith Rovers and now I am at a club where great things have been happening to me, like playing in the Champions League.
"If someone wants me to stay I am happy. I am not looking for a contract, that is the job of the club and the manager. I play for the jersey, not for a new contract."
