Novo: My goal was a beauty

The Ibrox side appeared to be suffering from a hangover after last weekend's Scottish Premier League title celebrations as they battled out a narrow 1-0 win over Falkirk in the Scottish Cup final. It was Novo who made all the difference when he grabbed the only goal of the game in the first minute of the second half, after coming off the bench to replace Kris Boyd at half-time. However, he insists Rangers were always fully focused on the cup final despite coming just days after their championship triumph. "Obviously you have celebrations," he said. "But you know this is a big game here, it's a cup final. There are no excuses." Novo's strike - a superb 30-yard volley - was fit to win any game and he admits it was a special goal. He said: "I had a chance and I just tried to hit the target and it came off a beauty so I'm quite happy. "I don't even know if it was my first touch or not. But the team did well." Confidence was also high in the Falkirk camp after they sealed their SPL status on the final day and Novo was keen to pay tribute to a team who made it difficult for Rangers. He said: "Falkirk are a good team as well, it's a team I've always really liked over the years. "They have a good manager who has made them play really good football. They were quite strong in the first half but struggled a little in the second half. "We won the game and I'm pleased about that."
