No return date for Naismith
25 Jun 2008 - 17:00:43
Injured Rangers striker Steven Naismith is unsure when he will be able to return to action as he continues his recovery from the cruciate knee injury he suffered in April.
The 21-year-old former Kilmarnock forward sustained the serious injury in the Scottish FA Cup semi-final victory against St Johnstone, but is pleased with the way his recovery programme is going.
He told the Gers' official website: "At the moment, my knee feels good. I feared the worst before my operation but it's been great. In fact, I'm surprised by how little it has hurt.
"I'm feeling fine and I'm just taking each week as it comes. There's obviously still a long way to go but hopefully I'm on track.
"I'm not sure when I'll be back playing and, to be honest, I've not asked and don't want to know.
"I'll just come back when I'm ready. I'm not going to rush out and go setting dates only for my head to drop when I'm not playing again by a certain time."
