Naismith geared up for tough run

Steven Naismith admits Rangers face a difficult period in the coming weeks as they attempt to remain in the hunt for a domestic treble.

The fixtures are piling up for Walter Smith's men, who face a Scottish Cup replay against Celtic before both teams do battle for the first silverware of the season in next month's Co-operative Insurance Cup final.

Naismith does not believe Celtic have the advantage in the upcoming clashes, saying: "Since I've been at Rangers, the team that has been the so-called weaker team has gone on to win the games."

He added: "They are great games to play in and we have this unique situation where we have seven to play in but that's the way it goes."

The champions are also preparing for this month's Europa League clashes with Sporting Lisbon.

"It's a massive couple of weeks with the European games and so it's tough times but thankfully we have a few fresh faces who can help the cause," Naismith added.
