Miller: Team share blame for Boyd slump

Kenny Miller insists the rest of the Rangers team must share the blame for Kris Boyd's goal drought and not just the striker himself.[LNB] Boyd is on his longest run without a league goal for the champions and has not found the back of the net since a penalty against Hibernian on February 14.[LNB]The loss of form in front of goal has been even more frustrating for the 26-year-old as he is just one away from claiming his 100th SPL goal for Rangers.[LNB]Boss Walter Smith confessed recently he may have rushed Boyd back too soon after a double hernia operation in January.[LNB]But fellow striker Miller believes his team-mates need to hold their hands up too.[LNB]He said: "I've got a fair bit of sympathy for Kris just now. He came back from his injury and got off to a flyer in terms of scoring against Motherwell, Hibs and St Mirren.[LNB]"But he never got back to quite the same level as he had been at before his operation and that hasn't helped him much.[LNB]"To be fair, I think his own form goes hand in hand with the fact the team hasn't been playing terribly well either.[LNB]"Over the last month or so, we've not been at our best and we know that so it's a bit unfair to highlight Kris' situation.[LNB]"If we aren't making as many opportunities as we perhaps were five or six games ago, Kris isn't going to score nearly as often."[LNB]Miller has every faith in Boyd to hit top form again soon and sees no reason why he cannot bring his tally to 30 for the season.[LNB]He told Rangers News: "Regardless of the fact he's only got two penalty goals in his last 10 games, he still has 24 for the season and that's what we should be focusing on.[LNB]"That's still a great return and with six games left to play, who is to say he won't push on towards the 30 mark?[LNB]"If we can get ourselves sorted out and make more openings for Kris, I've no reason to believe he won't finish things off the way we know he can."
