Miller: Pressure back on Celtic

Man-of-the-match Miller netted the decisive goal in Saturday's 2-1 SPL win at Ibrox, a result which sent the hosts three points clear at the summit. But Celtic will overtake them if they win at Hibernian on Sunday, with both sides then having only one game left this season. "We said first and foremost, we had to get the three points," said Miller, whose goal today came two minutes after Richard Foster put through his own net. "But if we were to get three or four (goals), it would have been great for us. "We'll take three points; it puts the pressure back on them (Celtic) tomorrow. "They go to Easter Road, which is a hard place. We found that, as have they this season." The other talking point from today's game was referee Stuart Dougal's decision to send off Charlie Mulgrew and Madjid Bougherra, with both decisions appearing harsh. "I never really saw the first one for Charlie," said Miller. "To get yourself a man up in that situation, you want to take advantage of it "I think Madjid's one was just a coming together. "You see that every week. "Once you're committed to going for that ball, there's no way you can stop yourself. "We're bitterly disappointed with that decision." Miller believes even losing their numerical advantage should not have stopped Rangers scoring more today. "You saw the way the game went in the second half, it was very open," he said. "We felt even 10 v 10 we could even have got more." Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood will consider appealing Mulgrew's dismissal, which looked harsh after Kyle Lafferty appeared to feign being headbutted by the Dons defender. "Very strange," Calderwood told Setanta Sports 1 when quizzed on Lafferty's reaction. "We're going to have a look at it. "Hopefully, Stuart (Dougal) will have a look at it. He's honest enough, the referee, that if he's made a mistake, he'll hold his hand up." Calderwood confirmed Mulgrew is adamant he was innocent. "He said right away, to be honest, he's done nothing," Calderwood said. "He's won the tackle and Kyle's come close to him with his head to his face but he says he never touched him and he is an honest lad, Charlie." He added: "We feel hard done by. It's hard enough here with 11 players, never mind 10. "But, at that moment in time, with 10 men we did really well." Of Aberdeen's performance, Calderwood said: "I was very pleased with them. I thought they knocked the ball about well. "We defended well; we defended a high line. "But we gave two bad goals away in the course of two counter-attacks and that's done us."
