Miller is Gers' main threat - Gannon

Miller saw a glorious chance blocked at close range by Holland goalkeeper Michel Vorm as Scotland's World Cup qualifying campaign ended with a 1-0 defeat at Hampden on Wednesday. However, the 29-year-old also hit the bar from an acute angle and forced another block from Vorm which spun inches wide. His running caused the Dutch defence numerous problems in the first half and Gannon believes he will be the man to watch in the lunchtime clash. "I like Kenny Miller, I think he is an exciting player," Gannon said. "He is constantly working hard, he creates chances and is constantly involved. "He is always a threat and I think he is going to be a player that is difficult to manage." While Miller missed the best chance of the night, his club-mate Davie Weir gifted Holland sub Eljero Elia the late winner with a wayward header in a rare slip. But Gannon expects the Ibrox pair to put their international heartache to one side on Saturday. "These boys have been in the game long enough now to take that pressure," the Motherwell manager added. "They are at the top of their game because they are strong mentally. "Whether the criticism is merited or not, I don't know, I can't comment on that. "But the two boys are mentally strong, they will brush themselves down, reflect on what's gone and move on to Saturday's game. "They have made an excellent start to the season, Rangers are champions, and will have the bit between their teeth to get back to winning ways with Rangers. I think these boys will take it all in their strides." While Gannon earmarked Miller as the main threat to Motherwell's unbeaten SPL record, he knows they can attack from all angles as he relishes the tactical battle with Walter Smith. "Tactically it's going to be a real challenge for us and I just hope I get the players motivated and organised in a way that they can give themselves a chance of winning this game," the former Stockport boss said. "As well as that, for me it will be interesting to look at the mental aspect of this game, to make sure my players believe they can win his game. "I think the way they equipped themselves in periods against Steaua Bucharest and other matches, there is no reason why they don't feel they can get something out of this game." Rangers 8/13, Draw 13/5, Motherwell 5/1
