Miller getting over shin troubles

Rangers striker Kenny Miller is confident he is overcoming the shin splints problem that have hampered his pre-season preparations. The 30-year-old did not train for the first two days of the club's stay in Australia after a fortnight of pain came to a head. But he scored in a 2-1 victory over Blackburn on Sunday and should line up against Sydney on Wednesday. Miller told Blues News: "For a couple of weeks I've found the shin splints problem pretty frustrating. I've not been able to train as much as I'd have liked and the pain has been pretty unbearable at times. "I've found myself lying in bed at night and it's been absolutely throbbing. It has been waking me up and all sorts. It hasn't been great but I took a few days when we got here in the hope that would allow it to settle down. "That seems to have worked and during the game with Blackburn on Sunday, I felt pretty good."
