Miller baffled by Boyd omission

Boyd's successful season continued at the weekend when he notched up his 29th goal of the campaign to help Rangers dispose of St Mirren and book their place in the Homecoming Scottish Cup final.[LNB]It was also his 100th goal since his switch to Ibrox in January 2006 - making him the fastest Gers player to reach his century since Jim Forrest in the 1960s.[LNB]But, while club-mates Steven Davis and Pedro Mendes - along with Celtic duo Gary Caldwell and Scott Brown - were shortlisted for the PFA Scotland award recently, there was no mention for Boyd.[LNB]The prize will be awarded at a glittering awards ceremony in Glasgow next weekend and, as far as Miller is concerned, he is baffled as to why the prolific hitman's efforts appear to have gone unnoticed by his peers.[LNB]"There is no doubt he does work hard for the team, as well as getting goals," he said.[LNB]"That's him got 29 for the season and, for someone to get that amount of goals and not be considered for the player of the year, to me is incredible.[LNB]"I'm a striker as well and the hardest thing to do is score goals. Boydy does it regularly every season and gets 25-30 goals per season so I've got nothing but praise for him."[LNB]Miller believes Boyd deserves more praise, rather than criticism.[LNB]He added: "There are a lot of negative things said about his game but the hardest thing to do in football is to score goals.[LNB]"Boydy does make it look easy. Fair enough, he's got a good team providing him with the chances and putting them on a plate for him sometimes.[LNB]"But you've still got to be in the right position at the right time and he's still got to put them away. So, for him to get that amount of goals is incredible.[LNB]"To score his 100th goal was brilliant and I'm absolutely delighted for him. That's what he does - he scores goals.[LNB]"To score 100 goals in 146 games is phenomenal. At any level, to get that amount of goals is incredible."[LNB]Meanwhile, Maurice Edu is hopeful of marking his first season in Scotland with a domestic double.[LNB]The United States international swapped MLS for the SPL last summer and wants to claim the championship and the Scottish Cup with Rangers this term.[LNB]"It would be massive for me," he said. "I came here with the mindset that I wanted to win championships and win medals.[LNB]"In this first year, it would be great for me if that happened. I would be very happy and the team is still confident we can accomplish it.[LNB]"It's just a case of going out there and taking it game by game."[LNB][LNB] Rangers 4/11, Draw 3/1, Hearts 15/2
