Merge the Old Firm and solve 99% of problems in Scotland.

Revolutionary idea from STV journo. Gordon Chree, STV journalist and deep-thinker, has solved it. He started Saturday by annoying himself: he had looked in on a couple of fans' forums and was frustrated that both sides seem to blame the media for everything. But not to be put off, he sat in front of the fire, like Descartes, and he put his mind to work. Nothing much at first, but then - a spark! He's cracked it. He's come up with an answer to all our problems and it can only be a matter of course before the Nobel Prize for Peace is on the mantelpiece. The solution to all the ills in Scottish football and life in the Strathclyde area: the death-rates; the poverty; the schooling; care for the elderly; unsocial behaviour; health care shortages. It's all been fixed with the following example of cyan-sky thinking. We can now sleep easier in our beds.  I don't know about you but I'm all for giving this a try. Perhaps we should have Gordon put it forward at the summit to be held next week. Once we've agreed on this we can try merging the schools. No..really...why are you laughing?
