McLean unhappy over Gers penalty

Referee David Somers' decision to award a spot-kick after the Light Blues' midfielder went down following a challenge by McLean sparked furious protests from the Fir Park players and earned goalkeeper Graeme Smith a booking. McLean, a former Rangers youngster, was raging over the award that Ibrox striker Kris Boyd converted to make it 3-1 to the home side. McLean said: "There were a few of us not happy with the decision because it was a wee bit of simulation by Mendes. "But it's Ibrox and you are always up against it. "I felt as if I got the ball. My leg was dangling there but he was already heading towards the floor before I stuck my foot out. "It's one of these things and sometimes you need to take it on the chin and get on with it. "It's unfortunate that the penalty was given as we were still in the game when we were 2-1 behind. We only needed one lapse from them."
