McDonald hails 'honest' Miller

Miller left Celtic for Derby just weeks after McDonald arrived from Motherwell in 2007 but the Australia international saw enough in that short period of time - and since the Scotland international returned for his second spell with Rangers, to rate him as a danger.[LNB]The Ibrox striker is better known for his work rate than scoring prowess but he has scored a brace in each of his last three games to take his tally to the season to 12 and his partnership with Kris Boyd has been responsible for helping the Light Blues go four points clear of Celtic at the top of the SPL table.[LNB]McDonald turned his focus towards the January 3 meeting with Rangers after the Scottish Premier League game against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.[LNB]He said: "Every striker has their patches, especially Kenny at the moment, who is flying.[LNB]"He is doing particularly well and I am happy for him really.[LNB]"He is an honest hard worker and at times maybe doesn't get the credit he deserves.[LNB]"Now he is getting the goals and suddenly everyone is paying attention.[LNB]"But he has a lot more to his game than that, we all know that and he will be a threat against us.[LNB]"However, in Old Firm games everything is thrown out of the window.[LNB]"It is 90 minutes and no matter what has happened before that, it gets thrown out the window as we have seen in previous games."[LNB]The Parkhead forward has 13 goals to his name this season but has notched only once in the last five matches.[LNB]He admits being frustrated many of the golden chances Celtic have created and missed in the recent weeks have not fallen to him.[LNB]However, McDonald points out the problem has not just surfaced since Tony Mowbray took over as boss in the summer.[LNB]"There have been chances missed but we would like a lot more, you always do as a striker," he said.[LNB]"There were periods last year where the previous manager Gordon Strachan would tell you time and again how many shots were on target and how many crosses were put in the box.[LNB]"So it's the same old story at times, unfortunately, but in saying that we still scored two in the last game (against Hamilton) and that was enough to take us over the finishing line.[LNB]"But at 1-0 the game is never over and we were fortunate that they didn't equalise.[LNB]"I was frustrated against Hamilton because chances haven't been going my way but you move on.[LNB]"It can be down to luck but as far as I'm concerned, you make your own luck.[LNB]"I need to keep working hard and things will come my way.[LNB]"Still, it's not been a bad return, in terms of goals this season for me but I would like a few more."[LNB][LNB] Celtic v Rangers.
