McCulloch ready to step back

Lee McCulloch will have no qualms moving back into the Rangers defence for the Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Inverness at Ibrox. Walter Smith will be without stopper Madjid Bougherra who is suspended while right-back Steven Whittaker is a doubt with a badly-bruised toe, as is left-back Sasa Papac, who has a groin complaint. The Light Blues boss could bring Andy Webster in to replace Bougherra but the former Hearts defender has played only one game this season, a Co-operative Insurance Cup win over Dunfermline in September, which could lead Smith to pair McCulloch with David Weir. The Rangers midfielder insists he would be happy to help as the Light Blues attempt to cut Celtic's lead at the top of the SPL table to two points. "If those three lads are out then it would be a blow but if the manager asks me to play there then no problem, I will go back and give it my best shot," the former Wigan midfielder said. "I would be more than happy. I wouldn't say I really enjoy it but I would do my best."
