Only Braga and Barcelona boast a stronger rearguard than the Scottish champions so far this season - making them the toughest team in Britain to break down.[LNB]"It does surprise me, I must admit it," said McCoist.[LNB]"It's a real compliment to all of the team that we are not losing as many goals as other teams."[LNB]But McCoist is not convinced the efforts of David Weir and Madjid Bougherra is the only reason Rangers are 10 points clear of Celtic in the title race.[LNB]"I'm not sure I would say that is the difference," he said.[LNB]"You could look at both sides and say there are differences.[LNB]"What I would say is that, at this moment in time, we are thrilled with the way the boys have been defending.[LNB]"I wouldn't talk about other teams defensively but we've got to be very pleased at the way our boys have been defending recently."[LNB]McCoist will be hoping for another clean sheet when Rangers host St Mirren in Thursday night's Scottish Cup replay.[LNB]And he knows goals will also be crucial against a side who held the holders to a goalless draw at the first time of asking.[LNB]He said: "I saw St Mirren against Hearts in the League Cup and I thought they were tremendous and thoroughly deserved their win.[LNB]"I saw them against Dundee United on Saturday and cannot believe they lost the game.[LNB]"Obviously I saw them in the first game against us and they are good, they are organised and you know exactly what you are going to get from St Mirren.[LNB]"The boys play really well and Gus has got them organised and determined. The two boys up front are a handful for anybody. They are a team that's difficult to play against and beat."[LNB][LNB]
