Rangers manager Ally McCoist hopes to secure Lee McCulloch and Neil Alexander on new deals over the next couple of months.

The Ibrox side revealed on Tuesday that youngsters Barrie McKay, Lewis Macleod and Robbie Crawford had all penned long-term contracts.

Light Blues boss McCoist now wants to see a couple of his senior players commit their futures to the club as well.

McCulloch took over the captain's armband earlier this month following Carlos Bocanegra's loan move to Racing Santander, while Alexander is now first-choice goalkeeper following the departure of Allan McGregor in the summer.

Both players are out of contract at the end of this season.

McCoist told RangersTV: "There has been nothing planned yet but it goes without saying that they are players who are very valuable to the team and the club.

"I would imagine in the next couple of months or so that their representatives will be sitting down with the club to discuss extensions to their contracts.

"Hopefully from their point of view and from our point of view we can do some good business."
