Gers assistant boss McCoist, in charge of the Govan side for the night, was agitated as he watched the Ibrox men struggle against their Third Division hosts despite taking an early lead through Sasa Papac.[LNB]Kenny Miller doubled Rangers' lead nine minutes after the break and grabbed his second a minute from the end of the 4-0 win.[LNB]In between, Forfar defender Elliot Smith was red-carded with 20 minutes remaining for an horrific tackle on Light Blues midfielder DaMarcus Beasley before his replacement Aaron Niguez grabbed the third.[LNB]Rangers will host Hamilton in the quarter-finals at Ibrox next month.[LNB]McCoist said: "People said there was no football played in the Old Firm game on Sunday but I thought we tried to play too much football. There were too many touches on the ball.[LNB]"I wanted the ball played forward quicker and we did that after the second half.[LNB]"One or two things helped us in the second half, especially the sending off but I was delighted to see Kenny get two goals and delighted that Aaron scored.[LNB]"The keeper made a couple of unbelievable saves and Kenny could have scored three."[LNB]McCoist played down the heavy tackle on Beasley which saw the USA international limp off.[LNB]He said: "There are a couple of stud marks on his shin but these things happen in football.[LNB]"Lee McCulloch's injury is more serious, he felt something ping in his calf."[LNB]Forfar manager Dick Campbell had no complaints about the result but admitted he was frustrated by his side's defensive errors which cost them dearly.[LNB]He said: "Rangers were worthy winners. There are a lot of disappointed players in the dressing room but I don't think any of them let themselves down.[LNB]"I enjoyed the game even though we were tired at the end.[LNB]"We lost a goal in 15 minutes and I thought we might take a doing.[LNB]"So I was happy enough at half-time even though we were one goal down.[LNB]"I didn't see the sending off but it didn't have a big bearing on the game although it had a bearing on our shape."[LNB][LNB]
