McCoist focused on Well clash

Ally McCoist insists Rangers have no time to dwell on their Europa League woes as they bid to bounce back with a win over Motherwell.[LNB] The Scottish champions travel to Fir Park for Sunday's SPL clash still reeling from the loss at Maribor, which leaves their hopes of progressing to the group stages in the balance.[LNB]But McCoist believes a mouth-watering meeting with a Motherwell side who sit top of the table is the ideal tonic for his players.[LNB]He said: "It's the easiest thing in the world because we are playing the team at the top of the league, against a team who haven't lost a goal this season.[LNB]"They have kept four clean-sheets, which is a fantastic record. It's a good game for us, it's a really, really good game.[LNB]"There is no time to look back and feel the disappointment - that's gone now and we are looking forward to the next game.[LNB]"It's a top of the table clash and it's against a team who are playing full of confidence and who are playing really well."[LNB]McCoist came out on top over his former Rangers team-mate Terry Butcher at Inverness last week and is hoping for similar luck against another old Ibrox colleague, Stuart McCall, on Sunday.[LNB]He said: "Stuart has done really well but it's no surprise. He is just a good lad and he has made a very clever and astute signing in Kenny Black.[LNB]"I know Kenny very well also and they have a good management team there and, indeed, a good team on the park.[LNB]"Stuart has been a good friend for a long time and he will continue to be a good friend.[LNB]"I just hope I get the same result over a good friend this weekend as I did last weekend."[LNB]Rangers were not the only Scottish team to suffer disappointment on the European stage, with Celtic held to a goalless draw at home against Swiss side Sion and Hearts crashing to a 5-0 defeat against Tottenham.[LNB]McCoist said: "It doesn't look good when none of our teams managed to get a result.[LNB]"Celtic had a goalless draw and I would imagine Neil Lennon would still fancy Celtic to go through. From our point of view, as disappointing as the result was, I firmly believe that we will get through.[LNB]"My immediate problem is making sure we qualify for this tournament, that's my target after what will be a difficult game at Motherwell.[LNB]"Without being over-confident, which I would never be, I saw enough, even through the disappointment, to think that we have a more than reasonable chance of qualifying.[LNB]"Whether it's at international level or club level, everybody has a duty to do their best to get the co-efficient of the country up.[LNB]"I would have to say, we have done our best in recent years and I don't think anybody could argue with that. Hopefully we will do so again by qualifying."
