Rangers assistant manager Ally McCoist believes it would be a "real blow" is the are forced to play European games behind closed doors next season. That is one of the sanctions the Scottish champions could face as UEFA today hear two charges of discriminatory behaviour against their supporters relating to both legs of the Europa League tie against PSV Eindhoven. McCoist, who replaces Walter Smith as manager at the end of the season, was asked about a possible ban on fans at matches. He said: "I would be disappointed, make no mistake about that. The atmosphere at our place in the Champions League in recent seasons has been out of this world. "I'd feel really sorry for the good fans and the players as well. Hopefully it won't be the case. It would be a real blow." He added: "I just think it's quite strange that you can't represent yourself when you've got an accusation levelled against you. I think anybody would like to defend themselves and put their opinions across. It would have been nice to be able to represent yourself."
