McCoist expects Rangers focus

But McCoist believes there is little chance of his players taking their opponents for granted in the quarter-final tie despite an impressive 7-1 win the last time the two clubs met.[LNB]The holders head into the clash having needed two attempts to see off both Hamilton and St Mirren in previous rounds and McCoist insists the players know exactly what is expected of them as they bid to reach a second cup final this season.[LNB]He said: "Complacency could be a danger but I would have to say that I don't think it will be. We will do our utmost not to allow it to happen.[LNB]"When we look at the squad of players in there, they are fantastic pros and they are aware of the fact that the biggest danger to themselves might be their own complacency.[LNB]"For that reason alone, I don't think it would happen. We haven't played as well in the last two games since the Old Firm game but I would not put the reason for that down to complacency.[LNB]"That's something the players know they would have to guard against."[LNB]Rangers have lost just one domestic cup tie - last year's Co-Operative Insurance Cup final to Celtic - since Walter Smith returned to the helm in January 2007.[LNB]McCoist added: "In cup competitions, you've got to have a certain degree of fortune and luck and we have had that.[LNB]"But I think we have deserved that little bit of luck. We have played well in cup competitions.[LNB]"We have only lost one tie but, at the same time, there has been some hairy moments - extra times, penalties. It's a good record and it looks good but it's not been as comfortable as it might seem.[LNB]"The players deserve all the credit because they have gone out and produced in these cup competitions. In the cups it's all about winning.[LNB]"In some of the games, the odds have been stacked against the lads but they have come through. Their attitude in all games has been first class and their record in the cups has been great."[LNB]One player who will not be involved this weekend is Kirk Broadfoot, who is set to sit out the cup tie with a slight hamstring problem.[LNB]The full-back spent nine months out of action with a foot injury and says he has learned his lesson about pushing himself through the pain barrier.[LNB]He said: "I'll miss the game at the weekend but hopefully be okay next week for the build-up to the [League Cup] cup final.[LNB]"I didn't see any point training and risking it for the weekend and then end up doing my hamstring and being out for six weeks.[LNB]"I've learned from the last time when I played through an injury and ended up having to get an operation so I'm not going to risk it this time."[LNB]Broadfoot admits he has been frustrated at kicking his heels on the sidelines for the last few weeks after making his long awaited comeback from injury.[LNB]He added: "I'm not going to lie, I was a bit frustrated at being left out of the team.[LNB]"But you probably have a dip after being out for so long and the manager's got experience and knows all about that situation.[LNB]"I want to play in every game. I've been out for long enough and I've missed plenty of games."[LNB][LNB] Rangers 3/10, Draw 4/1, Dundee Utd 9/1
