Rangers have received a boost after Martyn Waghorn's injury lay-off was restricted to about two weeks.
The forward left the pitch distraught after pulling up with a hamstring problem late in Saturday's opening Ladbrokes Premiership draw with Hamilton.
But his injury improved quickly and, following a scan, he wrote on Twitter: " Good result, not as bad as it could have been. Roughly 2 weeks out, hard work has begun to come back stronger."
The former Sunderland and Leicester striker will sit out Saturday's trip to Dundee and looks like missing a home game against Motherwell, but could return against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on August 26. Rangers' next game will then be at Celtic Park on September 10.
Waghorn scored his fifth goal in four matches on Saturday and the news will come as a major relief both to him and his manager, Mark Warburton, who is still trying to sign another striker.
The 26-year-old missed 10 weeks late last season after suffering a knee injury during a William Hill Scottish Cup win over Kilmarnock.
