ee McCulloch insists every single Rangers player will be pulling out all the stops to ensure Walter Smith's reign at the club ends on a high.[LNB] The Glasgow giants revealed last month the veteran boss will retire from football at the end of the forthcoming campaign after signing a new one-year deal.[LNB]Smith, 62, has presided over two hugely-successful spells at Rangers and McCulloch is keen to see him go out with a bang rather than a whimper.[LNB]The midfielder said: "Every year is an incentive for the players, you always want to win things.[LNB]"But, if it's going to be the manager's last year, it would be great to let him go out on a high.[LNB]"It's not going to come easy, it will be hard work and down to who wants it most."[LNB]Smith defied the odds to lead Rangers to a domestic double last term, in the shape of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League title and the Co-operative Insurance Cup, on a tight budget and with a reduced squad.[LNB]But McCulloch insists the Scottish champions must focus on the task of retaining their crown, rather than bask in past achievements.[LNB]"That's all behind us now," he said.[LNB]"We've had our holidays, we're back on July 3 and that's when the hard work starts so it's just about getting mentally prepared for that.[LNB]"We are looking forward to what is going to be another hard season."[LNB]Meanwhile, McCulloch claims he has no plans to request contract talks while other players are in the process of trying to secure their immediate futures.[LNB]Kirk Broadfoot signed a new three-year deal earlier this week, but skipper David Weir has yet to thrash out a contract extension.[LNB]Smith will also be looking to bolster his squad with new faces after being told some cash will be made available to strengthen his playing staff over the summer.[LNB]As far as McCulloch is concerned, his own situation can remain on the backburner for now.[LNB]He said: "There have been no talks.[LNB]"It would be very selfish of me to think that I need to get myself sorted now while there are others to get sorted first, such as Davie Weir.[LNB]"He is currently out of contract and hopefully the club can sign him again. There are probably people ahead of me in the pecking order.[LNB]"I've still got a year left so it's all about what I do in this season coming."
