Little: Gers wanted three points

The 20-year-old came off the bench to net a last-gasp equaliser against Hearts to cancel out Scott Robinson's opener and earn a share of the points.[LNB]The close-range strike prevented Rangers from slumping to their first defeat in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League at Ibrox since succumbing to Inverness last March.[LNB]"On a personal level it was very special for me. I was delighted and enjoyed it," said Little.[LNB]"But, for the team, we wanted to get the three points and it's a bit disappointing.[LNB]"It was a very important goal but three points would have been better.[LNB]"The fact that I couldn't really celebrate it wasn't ideal.[LNB]"It was the first time that my mum, dad and two brothers were all over for the game and I wanted to go and celebrate but I couldn't really do it because we needed to try to get another one."[LNB]Victory would have allowed the Scottish champions to move a staggering 12 points clear at the summit ahead of Celtic's meeting with St Johnstone 24 hours later.[LNB]"That was the aim," said Little.[LNB]"But we knew this game was going to be very hard. Hearts were always going to come here and make it difficult for us.[LNB]"Unfortunately we didn't create as many chances as we would have liked in the second half.[LNB]"But there is a long way to go and every game is just as big as every other game so hopefully we can get a good run and push on."[LNB]With Kris Boyd, Kenny Miller, Nacho Novo, Steven Naismith and DaMarcus Beasley all sidelined through injury, Rangers were toiling to find the back of the net against a Hearts side who were reduced to ten men following the dismissal of Christian Nade.[LNB]And Little revealed that the message from the bench when he was thrown into action was a simple one.[LNB]"Try and get a goal," he smiled. "That was all Kenny McDowall said.[LNB]"I try to be as confident as I can. When I get to play up front, I'm looking to score goals.[LNB]"It wasn't as if it was anything special - the ball broke to me and if I'd missed it, it would have been a bad miss.[LNB]"But I'm happy to get a goal and it's a dream come true to score for Rangers at Ibrox."[LNB]With no funds to recruit new players this month and a threadbare squad stretched to the limit, Little says plans to go out on loan have now been shelved in favour of making an impact at Rangers.[LNB]The Northern Irishman said: "The squad at the minute is very, very thin and it works in my favour because hopefully I will get a few more chances.[LNB]"I have really enjoyed getting my few bits and pieces on the pitch lately and hopefully I can get more and more game-time.[LNB]"The financial situation is not ideal but it's good for the young boys coming through.[LNB]"All the young boys now realise that a few of us are getting a chance and that motivates them and pushes them on.[LNB]"But, for the sake of the team, we want all those boys back as soon as possible."[LNB][LNB][LNB]
