A frank exchange took place between the two players during half-time of their 1-0 defeat at Aberdeen in November, with Weir reportedly furious with Lafferty's efforts at Pittodrie.[LNB]Reflecting on the incident now, the Northern Ireland international admits he had allowed his move to the Scottish champions from Burnley in June 2008 go to his head.[LNB]And he believes the clash with Weir was the wake-up call he badly needed.[LNB]The 22-year-old striker said: "I've had to change a lot since the Aberdeen game in November and hopefully people will feel my attitude has got a lot better.[LNB]"I think my work-rate has probably improved too since Davie had a word with me and I agree with what he said back then.[LNB]"If I'm honest, I have to thank him for that because it has woken me up a bit and made me think about things.[LNB]"I realise now that when I got my big move to Rangers I let it go to my head a bit but I respect Davie so much and what he said has really hit home.[LNB]"For someone of his stature to have to speak to me isn't good and I've tried to work a lot harder since then.[LNB]"After the incident with Davie, I've had to give myself a bit of a shake and I hope that comes across to people.[LNB]"I respect every senior pro, no matter who he is or what he's done, and every young lad like me should look up to Davie.[LNB]"Guys like him are there to help you and while I want to forget about what happened with him now, hopefully some good can come of it."[LNB]Meanwhile, Lafferty admits he has no chance of being given the nod up front with Kris Boyd when Kenny Miller returns from suspension.[LNB]He replaced the banned striker for Sunday's Old Firm derby but told the Rangers News: "It's going to be hard for anyone to displace them from the team.[LNB]"Strikers are judged on their goals and both of them are doing so well in that respect.[LNB]"They're already on 31 between them for the season, which is outstanding, and you can't argue with that.[LNB]"Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and admit you're not going to get in ahead of them when they're in that form."[LNB][LNB] Scottish Premier Winner 2009/10 Win Outright: Rangers 8/15
